I am not a fan of “metaphysical assertions” in the context of meditation. These are statements about meditation that are simply asserting a metaphysical statement that has nothing to do with actual practice.
For example, saying something like (I read this one but don’t remember where) “the universe unfolds in the cradle of the conscious biological embryo.” doesn’t mean anything to someone trying to find the stillness within.
The universe may be unfolding, but so what? One still has to sit with the challenges of the monkey mind, the roaming thoughts, feelings, desires etc.
While metaphysics may be alluring, it is not meditation.
